"You know what my number one fantasy used to be?… I used to think about one day… just not telling anyone and going off to some random place. And I’d just disappear…and they’d never see me again." ~Ghost World
What do you consider to be the cons to using traditional art over digital and vice versa? It's a very interesting topic. Anyway, I know you probably don't have the time to answer, that is completely understandable. Cheers! :)
I always have time to answer an interesting question (:.
Personally, I don´t see cons, the two are definitely different, and there are things you can achieve with one and not with the other and vice versa.
For example, I feel I can get a more “rough” result with traditional art, I love the linework quality that you can get, also I like the fact that there is an original piece that you can´t reproduce exactly the same, it definitely has an special aura, but that doesn´t make digital less than traditional, is just different.
With digital, I feel I am able to achieve a more detailed piece and results that I can´t get with traditional, I´m in love with what people can do with a tablet, you have so much freedom, for me the use of color is easier, etc. But that is the way things are for me, for sure things are different for other people.
So why using one over the other?, I like to use both, at the end it depends on what each person feels comfortable using. When a piece of art moves me, I couldn´t care less the medium.
