What advise can you give to a person studying anatomy?
I think for anatomy the more you do the better, but! also its always more important quality than quantity, it doesn´t matter if you can´t do 100 sketches to practice, but make sure that the whatever number you do counts and that you really learn from them, also in genereal never stop drawing , learning is a never ending process, I think.
Try to draw from life or photos, you can also try to do it from imagination, and then go back and check references if you need etc.
You can also check some anatomy books, I love the ones by Andrew Loomis and Burne Hogarth.
And as a basic tip, don´t get too overwhelmed with it, if you take it to the basics, its just basic shapes and proportion relationships, after keep drawing the human body over and over your eyes will start to get used to all that and it will be easier.
Heya, I love your badass women, Fernanda! It's SKTAF from DA. I know you do a lot of traditional sketches. Any particular pencils you use? Just one mechanical or a range from Hs and Bs? Also, do you do any other traditional work? acrylics or oils or inks?
I use mechanical 0.5mm , and for dark lines and shadow a soft chalk pencil number 2, just that and a normal eraser (:
OH GOD I love your art so much, it is so simple and beautiful. I aspire to be able to do what you do some day. :)
omg thank youuuuu ;;______;; , and omg im sure you can be 100 times better (:
I fucking love your work <3
thank youuuu n____n
Your art is great! How long have you learned to draw?
Thank you! (: , and I draw since for ever xD so it wasn´t an specific date, and until today I´m still learning , I think you never stop learning
I just found your blog- and I just thought I would drop a line and tell you that your art is beautiful. Wow. It is absolutely stunning.
omg thank youuu y__y
how did you learned to draw anatomy? i find it's the hardest part of a whole sketch.... like do you use basic figures as circles and triangles or how!?
I am just very used to do it by now, and I try to keep drawing constantly, well it ismy favorite subject to draw and paint so it comes out naturallty to want to draw it. Also I´m still learning, and still making tons of mistakes in every drawing .
At the beginning I did the basic figures shapes to start, yes, and until now if it is a difficult pose I still do it, but I would say is all in practice, the more you do, the more you train your eyes to get used to proportions and relations, with time your eyes will synchronize better with your hands, and don´t get caught up in complicated views on it, if you take it to the basic, its just a bunch of figures together, rectangles , circles etc, after you get that basic structure, you can play and go to more organic.
Also a tip, at least I think it works, if you are doing a figure with clothes on, start doing it naked, so you can get the body right , and then go to add the clothes, because sometimes you can get confused by that, I always do that.
